Jimmy Kimmel showed up the morning of the pool party just as I was icing my face with a sausage roll. It was my favorite way to depuff my face in The Bachelor mansion. (Beauty Tip!) That’s why my face was extra rosy sans makeup in that scene if you noticed and I really tried to cover it with my hand. HOWEVER, let’s not make too many excuses. My skin kinda sucks. That’s harsh…it’s difficult. The ghost of cystic acne‘s past remains on my face in the form of rosacea-like spotting and redness. But my skin doesn’t need to reveal it’s nasty past with the help of the right make-up and application. Thanks to the following products I’m able to mask the rose (because not all rosy cheeks are cute)….
After giving facial oils and moisturizer about 30 minutes to sink in, I will smear (that’s kinda a gross word, isn’t it?) Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse in Nude Beige around my eyes and the corners of my nose. The Nude Beige shade is perfect for masking red tones in the skin. I’ll then take the brush I pretty much use for every step of the process, my Ecotools blush brush, and brush the mousse lightly on my cheeks and other red spotty areas. I basically use this mousse foundation as a concealer. After that
I’ll paint on Maybelline’s Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Ivory in a half moon shape from under my eyes to my mid cheeks. Tap with your fingers to blend. Next, I spray a mix of Sephora’s Airbrush Foundation in Fawn (aka yellow) and Dior’s Airflash in Blonde onto the Ecotool brush (or Sephora’s Pro Flawless Airbrush if you wanna get fancy.) Brush this combination all over your face. It will conceal every flaw, but won’t look heavy. This is a Dutchess Kimberly GUARANTEE.
The foundation itself should make your skin pretty pore-less, but to up the ante and matt-i-fy (making up words here), I like to swipe on some powders. MAC’s yellow toned Prep & Prime CC Color Correcting Loose Powder in Adjust (that’s actually the name of the shade) is AHH-MAZZING in taking out any remaining red. I concentrate it on my upper cheeks/below the eye area. Finally, brush on a light layer of the product in my make-up bag that would get my final rose, Make Up For Ever’s HD Loose Finishing Powder.
Now that you have this list of products, whether or not your trying to conceal zits or a red, tear stained face (*clears throat*), you’re covered!
