A break up is never easy, but when you realize the person you’re with isn’t the person you foresee spending forever with, it has to happen. In episode 12 (season 4) of the Almost Famous podcast, I discuss with Ben the reasons Kevin and I needed to end our romance. Kevin is one of the most thoughtful and caring men I’ve ever met. He defines “sweetheart.” His greatest desire in life is to find someone and start a family with them. He is so committed and is such a provider. He doesn’t want to just provide a wonderful life for his family, but also be someone’s emotional support system and be their safe space. I find the way he wants to take care of someone’s heart so beautiful.
While we clicked immediately during The Bachelor Winter Games and get along so well and have great physical chemistry, our lifestyles aren’t the most compatible and I felt like we were missing the “zazazoo” as Carrie Bradshaw would say. At three months, I didn’t feel like it was the honeymoon period as it should be at that point.
In this episode of the podcast, Kevin calls in to talk about how he’s feeling about our split and how we will continue to be friends. Then, Nick Viall is live in studio to talk with Ben about the success rate of The Bachelor relationships and a former Bachelor’s advice.
Lastly, we revisit the prior week’s email from anonymous. How should one deal with forming a new, obsessive crush while still being in five year long relationship with someone else? Nick weighs in. Do you explore the feelings or ignore? Does this mean your current relationship is doomed? Is this emotional cheating?
