02 Jul Lashless
The other day, I mentioned on Twitter that I feel like I’m having an identity crisis. I looked at myself in the mirror sans lash extensions (but with makeup) and thought, “Hot damn. Could I possibly look better without lash extensions?!” Lashley…Kardashley…without her signature feature?! Not possible!
Okay, let’s backtrack for a second…When I came home from shooting Bachelor in Paradise, my lashes were wrecked partially due to makeup every day, but mostly the ocean’s undertow. No joke. Almost drowned. I guess there were some tears too… This isn’t a spoiler! You guys know, jealously over a nice sounding date card can send in the water works. My lashes were also super sloppy because I glued drugstore individual lashes in the bare spots which developed a lot faster than usual. Yo, Bachelor franchise! Hire a live in lash tech, PLEASE!
Speaking of this, let me tell you something VERY interesting…While many people loved my lashes last season, I mostly got backlash on social media. Jealously, my mom says. HaHaHa! So many people made fun of my “tarantula” lashes, however, the cast never did…and guess what?! In Paradise, 75% of the female cast had gotten lashes extensions…because of ME! *Tooting my own horn* So there, Bachelor Nation!
Okay, so back to my ailing lashes. I decided it was best to give them a two week break and use that time to slather on Rapid Lash. Rapid Lash was my old go-to for making my lashes long and healthy. Rapid Lash helps with strengthening and growth. This product totally changed my mom’s eyes. She went from nubs to nice lashes.
I thought I was going to take off my lashes and be too repulsed to look in the mirror. It was actually nice to see the natural almond shape of my eyes. So Joe Jonas. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my natural lashes haven’t been too destroyed by extensions. They’re still pretty dense! I’m not sure whether or not my lashes are naturally shorter than they used to be before I got hooked on extensions. It could just be that I’m so used to seeing sweeping lengths.
As of now, I will be keeping my lash appointment at Pretty Girls Make Faces next week. I plan on getting a more natural looking, fresh set. I won’t rule out getting them taken off again. There’s always Latisse to try…
